For small stains, just grab a damp cloth and some gentle hand soap to spot clean.
If your hat needs a thorough wash, give it a bath in water and gently scrub it with a soft cloth or your hands. Then, let it dry out in the sun.
Remember to avoid harsh chemicals or strong soaps, as they can mess with the water-repellent coating over time.
